Registrarial Support Services (RSS) Updates

Academic Continuance

The Academic Standing Update (ASU) Review Process is a key part of the Academic Continuance Period that occurs at the end of each academic term, after grades have been received and academic standings have been calculated. The process is designed to ensure that academic standings have been accurately assigned and reflect the student's academic performance.

Please review the Academic Performance Memo that will be sent to academic program departments on December 1. For any questions about the academic continuance review period or access to departmental reports, please reach out to Registrarial Support Services at sr.support@torontomu.ca.

Fall Term Grade and Standing Release Dates

Similar to last year, undergraduate students will be able to access their unofficial grades and academic standings before the Mid-Year Break on Thursday, December 18 after 1 p.m. Grades and standings will be considered official on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

Students can find more information on the Grades and Standings page.

Winter Term Course Schedules and Enrolment

Students’ winter term course schedules are now loaded and available on MyServiceHub. Students will be able to make adjustments during the upcoming course enrolment period.

Schedules are loaded based on course intentions. Please note that first-year students were automatically loaded into their winter term course intentions for required courses in early August. While we make every effort to enrol students into their selected course intentions, there are occasions when their selections cannot be accommodated. Review reasons why course intentions did not result in course enrolment.

Withdrawal Reminder

Students who do not plan to continue their studies at TMU in the winter 2026 term should be reminded that it is their responsibility to submit a short-term or permanent withdrawal request by the winter 2026 course drop deadlines. Students may not realize that their courses are automatically scheduled; failure to withdraw or drop courses will result in academic and financial consequences.

Priority Course Enrolment Dates

Winter term course enrolment dates are outlined on the Course Enrolment page.

Priority enrolment dates will be assigned to students by early December. Once assigned, students will be able to confirm them via their Student Center on MyServiceHub.

Students admitted for the winter term (to first year of a program)

Newly admitted students will receive an early priority enrolment appointment of December 9. The following email communication will be sent on December 2 to students assigned the early enrolment appointment: ServiceHub Priority Enrolment Communication for Winter Admits.

To ensure smooth winter course enrolment, students should ensure they pay all outstanding fees before the holiday closure. Once the University closes, staff availability is limited, which may slow payment processing and removal of holds.

Policy Update: Letter of Permission and Challenge Credits

Effective winter 2026, letters of permission, transfer credits and challenge credits have been added or amended in Senate policies. Highlights include:

  • Students may take up to 3 credits on a Letter of Permission during their academic career at TMU.

  • A student may receive up to 3 Challenge Credits during their academic career at TMU.

  • Students must not exceed the transfer credit limit of 50% of their TMU program requirements (including Letter of Permission, Transfer Credits and Challenge Credits. Refer to Policy 170(a) and the Office of the Registrar’s website for details on procedures about the use of these curriculum exceptions).
